Happy New Year!

Happy new year from snowy Yosemite National Park! May all your next-year dreams be on the farthest side of grand, on the crooked-er side of straight, and on the trouble-making side of mischievous! Please enjoy a few pictures from the latest snowstorm and my snowshoe play in its aftermath powder!

Mid-stowstorm snow sticks to the near-vertical faces of Cathedral Rocks.

All's exquisite in El Capitan Meadow during a snowstorm.

I took this opportunity for some snowshoe play on the 4 Mile Trail in about a foot of fresh powder.

Good snowshoes equate to good flotation atop the snow, which just plain means easier, faster snowshoeing!

Bathed in a powder layer, all is quiet on the 4 Mile Trail.

In the snowstorm here I can’t see much, so I’m pretending there’s mountains nearby – I’m in Yosemite, if only in spirit. Happy New Year!
