Where the earth’s landforms rise up in extreme fashion toward the heavens, like the east side of the Teton Range or the Sierra Nevada, people shush up and gawk.
It’s all fun, games, and bluebird skies in these here Sierra Nevada mountains right now. Summer is almost here and our hearts are becoming high country lost for the season!
Spring has sprunged here in the Sierra Nevada. Be it the weekly waves of zealous lowland wildflowers, Yosemite Valley’s snowmelt floodwaters, or the raspy song of the migrant mountain bluebird above a snow patch at 8,000 feet elevation, the signs are everywhere.
I’m not doing well in my attempts to blog about Marathon des Sables. I’m at this point so-danged tempted to just plain skip it and move on! However, it was such a life-altering experience that not documenting it would be more painful than the discomfort incited by trying to write about it.
